A time when the garbage dumps of developing countries are no longer homes to
human beings struggling to survive.
International Samaritan serves victims of severe poverty in developing countries by partnering with them and others to alleviate hunger, homelessness, endemic disease and ignorance.
Stop and Save a Life
International Samaritan is the organization that encourages everyone to follow the example of the Good Samaritan, who stopped, and saved a life. The world’s most impoverished people are the lives we save. The ones others deem as throw-aways, the uncounted who live and scavenge in the garbage dump communities in Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Nicaragua, Egypt, Ethiopia and many other developing countries. They need a Good Samaritan. They need International Samaritan.
Yes, there is such a thing as garbage dump communities and they are filled with men, women, children and infants who live their lives and scrap together an existence in the most horrific of conditions. Most of the world knows nothing about it. Displaced by war, civil unrest, natural disasters, and other circumstances beyond their control, these people need us to stop and help. In many cases, to stop and save their lives. That’s the work of International Samaritan.
Through the contributions of generous donors, the hands of volunteers from American high schools, colleges and universities working with local partners on the ground, International Samaritan has helped tens of thousands of people on their journey from despair to dignity. And we’ll help thousands more until the garbage dumps of developing countries are no longer homes to human beings struggling to survive.
