If Not Us, Who? If Not Now, When?
As we reflect on the horrific fate that the people of Haiti have endured, and will continue to endure as the country rebuilds, we are reminded of why we established International Samaritan. We wanted to do something to help. We were appalled. We were called to make a difference. To create a safe, nurturing place for children, solid homes for families, medical centers, and places to learn and develop life skills.
Much of our work has been accomplished through service learning trips. Service learning trips are more than projects. They are opportunities for people to see and feel the environment in which we serve; to meet the people we serve; to reflect. Service learning trips are transformative experiences. They impact how people perceive the world - a paradigm shift, a conversion, a change of heart.
We need more health care personnel, more builders; more compassionate people who want to serve the least of God’s children, rich in spirit, and full of enthusiasm for the future. You can help make that future possible.
"What good is it if a person claims to have faith, but has no deeds?"
-James 2:14
