One of my strengths is that I never see a glass as half full; I see it as mostly full almost all the time. My natural optimism helps me in my work, but I’ve learned that it can also hurt me. Sometimes the glass can actually be half empty—or even completely empty (trust me on this, I’ve run out of gas way more than a person ever should in life). That’s why I love this scene with Jim Carey:
Clip from Dumb & Dumber, pulled from YouTube. Dumb & Dumber is the property of New Line Cinema. International Samaritan does not own the movie Dumb & Dumber, in whole or in part.
It’s also why I’ve come to see that having people in my life who give me honest feedback is a rare and precious thing that I should never discourage. The older I get, the clearer it becomes to me which people in my life have friends or family members who give them loving, sometimes painful, feedback about themselves— and which people don’t. People close to us see things that we don’t see on our own. I’ve learned that their honest and consistent feedback is a gift.
In that spirit, I’m asking you to take a few minutes to share that gift with us at International Samaritan. Please complete this survey to let us know how you think we’re doing. It’s only 12 questions, along with a couple of opportunities to add your comments.
To sweeten the deal a little, we’re giving away five of the coolest T-shirts you’ve ever seen with our logo on it. Anyone who completes the survey by 11:59 PM on Tuesday, July 2 will be included in the raffle that will take place at noon on Wednesday on Facebook Live.
Please, take a moment now to let us know what you think.

Who are the Saints in Your Life?
A year ago this morning, I walked in for my first day on the job at International Samaritan. When I mention this fact to friends, old-school Catholics are quick to tell me, “Ahh, All Saints Day, that’s a good day to start your new job.” For those of you who are not...
